Hamzah Andrabi

My name is Syed Hamzah Andrabi.
I am currently pursuing my graduation in commerce.  I wasn’t born an artist. But nonetheless, the passion for art and beauty was deep there, embedded somewhere, and it took me quite a while to unearth that. Consequently, I started sketching in 2012 and photography in 2013. In the years that followed, I won various photography contests held in Srinagar.

I love to capture stories- be it the ones hidden underneath different faces or the ones told by the Creator Himself in the form of beautiful landscapes, I capture them all. Photography is something I enjoy immensely and take great joy in. With the grace of Almighty, I have been able to improve and better my skills with time, and hope to do so in the future as well.

Sketching is another food that satiates the hunger of the aspiring artist who dwells inside me! It is like magic, that the strokes of black create on the white of paper. It fascinates me so much. And it is for this reason that I prefer sketching to painting. I only use charcoal and graphite in my sketches, instead of different colors. Most of my sketches are portraits . And my soul feeds off the joy I experience while encaging those raw emotions in the bondage of black and white.

I dream to make my passion, my profession. I will continue to work hard and improve my skills, so that one day, I can proudly say that I did it! In sha Allah.
