Samreen Nabi

My name is Samreen Nabi.l am currently pursuing Masters in Agricultural Engineering.
I was born and raised here in Srinagar but my family has its roots in Bandipora. From the very age of 12, I used to doodle and scribble on my notebooks.
I love sketching and drawing portraits. Colours have been my bliss.
My dearest Dad used to encourage me the most and he still does in every way imaginable.
I wanted to take it as a profession but in this society dominated by doctors and engineers I wasn’t allowed to.
Still, something in me was refusing to give up.
I started painting on my own end. Many instances arose where i thought i was failing but there was always a strong faith and passion for painting that helped me rise .The waving trees ,the flowing waters, the moving sky ,the roaring mountains would call me to get up and start again.
I have an ethereal bond with nature. It has a captivating and intruiguing effect on me.

Although my artworks are very few as of now, nevertheless
I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep!

A few years from now, I see myself in the list of propitious and emerging landscape artists from Kashmir (In Sha Allah).
